P1507 · SubaruIdle Control System Malfunction Fail Safe

P1507 on a Subaru means the engine control module (ECM) has detected a fault in the idle control system and has entered a fail-safe mode, typically commanding a fixed idle speed to keep the engine running. The ECM monitors the idle control valve (ICV) circuit and idle speed feedback, and when the actual idle speed deviates from the target or the circuit response is out of range, it sets this code and illuminates the check engine light. This code is most common on older Subaru models with a cable-operated throttle and a separate idle air control valve.
