P2DC8Starter/Generator Excitation Current Low

P2DC8 indicates that the engine control module has detected an abnormally low excitation current in the starter/generator circuit, which is the field current used to control the output of the integrated motor-generator unit. The computer compares the commanded excitation current with the actual current reported by the starter/generator control module and sets this code when the measured value falls below the expected threshold for a calibrated time.
