P2AE7Intake Air O2 Sensor Negative Current Control Circuit Low Bank 1

P2AE7 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an abnormally low current on the negative control circuit of the intake air oxygen sensor on bank 1. This sensor is a wideband air-fuel ratio sensor that uses a pump cell and a reference cell to measure oxygen content in the intake air stream, and the negative current control circuit is responsible for precisely regulating the sensor's pumping current. When the circuit current falls below the expected threshold, the PCM sets this code and may substitute a default value for intake air oxygen content.
