DTC codes / P27xx · Transmission / P27A5
P27A5 indicates that the transmission control module (TCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage on the control circuit for the auxiliary transmission fluid pump, often called the electric transmission fluid pump. This pump maintains fluid pressure when the engine is stopped, such as during auto start-stop events, and a high-voltage condition usually points to an open circuit, a short to power, or a faulty pump control module.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
