P25A8Fuel Mode Select Switch Circuit Intermittent/Erratic

P25A8 indicates the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an intermittent or erratic signal from the fuel mode select switch circuit, which is used on some vehicles to choose between different fuel maps or fuel types. The PCM expects a stable voltage or resistance from the switch, but the signal is dropping out or fluctuating beyond acceptable limits, so the computer cannot reliably determine the selected fuel mode.
