DTC codes / P24xx · Auxiliary emission controls / P2473
P2473 indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage signal from the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor located after the diesel particulate filter (DPF) on bank 1, sensor 3. This high voltage typically corresponds to a temperature reading that is higher than physically possible or a circuit fault, such as an open circuit or short to voltage, in the sensor or its wiring.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
