P2472Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Bank 1 Sensor 3

P2472 means the engine control module (ECM) has detected an abnormally low voltage on the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor circuit for bank 1 sensor 3, which is typically the sensor located after the diesel particulate filter (DPF) or catalytic converter on that bank. The ECM expects the sensor signal to rise as exhaust temperature increases, but the voltage stays below the calibrated minimum, indicating a short to ground, an open circuit, or a failed sensor.
