P2419Evaporative Emission System Switching Valve Control Circuit Low

P2419 means the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a low-voltage condition on the control circuit for the evaporative emission (EVAP) system switching valve, which is often called the purge valve or canister vent valve depending on the vehicle. The PCM commands the valve on or off and monitors the circuit for expected voltage; when the signal stays below the normal threshold for longer than a calibrated time, it stores this code and turns on the check engine light.
