DTC codes / P22xx · Fuel and air metering (injector circuits) / P2286
P2286 means the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a voltage signal from the injector control pressure sensor that is higher than the expected range for the current operating conditions. The sensor monitors fuel rail pressure on the high-pressure side of the injection system, and an abnormally high signal tells the PCM that the pressure reading is implausible or the circuit is shorted to voltage.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
