DTC codes / GM codes / P1522

P1522 · GMPark Neutral To Drive Reverse At High RPM

P1522 on GM vehicles means the powertrain control module (PCM) detected a transition from Park or Neutral directly into Drive or Reverse while engine speed was above a calibrated threshold. The PCM monitors the transmission range signal and engine RPM, and it flags this code when the range change occurs at an abnormally high engine speed that could damage the transmission or driveline.
