P2A8A indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage on the control circuit for the compression stroke valve of the alternative fuel pump. This valve is used in some alternative fuel systems to manage pump operation, and a high voltage reading suggests a short to power, an open circuit, or a faulty valve or PCM driver.
