P28C0Ion Sense Module Supply Voltage Circuit

P28C0 indicates that the ion sense module has detected an out-of-range voltage on its dedicated supply circuit, which is used to power the ion current measurement electronics inside the combustion chamber. The engine control module (ECM) monitors this supply voltage and sets the code when it falls below or rises above the expected operating window, typically because of a wiring fault, poor connection, or a failing ion sense module.
