DTC codes / P28xx · Transmission / P2809
P2809 means the transmission control module (TCM) commanded pressure control solenoid G to a specific state and the electrical feedback circuit shows it is stuck continuously energized, so the TCM cannot trust that solenoid's hydraulic control. The TCM sets this code when the solenoid's commanded current and measured current disagree in a way that indicates the coil is shorted on or the driver circuit is held to power.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
