P2799Electric/Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump A Control Circuit High

P2799 means the transmission control module (TCM) has detected a high-voltage condition on the control circuit for the electric or auxiliary transmission fluid pump, which is used to maintain fluid pressure when the engine is not running or during auto start-stop events. The computer monitors the circuit for an expected voltage drop and sets this code when the signal stays above the normal threshold, indicating an open circuit, short to voltage, or a failed pump driver.
