DTC codes / P27xx · Transmission / P274C
P274C means the transmission control module (TCM) has detected an abnormally low voltage signal on the circuit for Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor C, which is one of several temperature sensors inside the transmission. The TCM compares the sensor's return voltage to expected limits and sets this code when the signal stays below the low threshold for a calibrated time, indicating a short to ground, an open circuit, or a failed sensor.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
