P26D6Engine Coolant Pump Clutch Control Circuit / Open

P26D6 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an open circuit or abnormal voltage on the control circuit for the engine coolant pump clutch, which is the electrically actuated coupling that engages the coolant pump on engines that use a clutched pump for thermal management. The computer monitors the circuit for expected current flow and voltage drop, and when the signal falls outside the programmed range it stores this code and may disable the clutch to protect the pump.
