DTC codes / P24xx · Auxiliary emission controls / P24A8
P24A8 indicates that the engine control module (ECM) has commanded the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooler coolant pump to run, but the pump's feedback signal shows it is stuck off and not circulating coolant. The ECM detects this by monitoring the pump's electrical circuit or a dedicated pump speed/position sensor and comparing actual operation against the command.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
