P2470Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent Bank 1 Sensor 3

P2470 means the engine control module (ECM) has detected an intermittent fault in the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor circuit for bank 1 sensor 3, which is typically the sensor after the diesel particulate filter (DPF) on a V6 or V8 engine. The ECM sees the sensor signal drop out or jump erratically for brief periods, rather than failing completely, so the circuit works some of the time and fails intermittently.
