P2461DPF Restriction - Forced Limited

P2461 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an excessive restriction in the diesel particulate filter (DPF) that has forced the engine into a limited-power operating mode. The computer monitors pressure differential across the DPF and, when the restriction exceeds a calibrated threshold, it commands reduced torque to protect the filter and exhaust system from damage.
