DTC codes / P24xx · Auxiliary emission controls / P245D
P245D indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an abnormally high voltage on the control circuit for the exhaust gas recirculation cooler bypass valve on bank 1. The circuit is typically ground-switched, so a high voltage reading means the control wire is shorted to voltage, the valve solenoid is open, or the driver inside the module has failed.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
