P2442 means the powertrain control module (PCM) has commanded the bank 2 secondary air injection (SAI) switching valve to open, but the valve position or airflow response indicates it is stuck open. The PCM detects this by comparing commanded valve state against feedback from the valve position sensor or by monitoring the resulting fuel trim and oxygen sensor response during the air injection test.
