P2425Exhaust Gas Recirculation Cooling Valve Control Circuit/Open

P2425 indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an open circuit or loss of continuity in the control circuit for the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) cooling valve. This valve routes engine coolant through the EGR cooler to manage the temperature of recirculated exhaust gases, and when the circuit is open the PCM cannot command the valve to open or close, potentially affecting emissions and engine efficiency.
