P22EC indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an out-of-range or performance fault in the control circuit for the alternative fuel injector on cylinder 5. The PCM monitors the circuit for expected voltage and current behavior, and when the signal does not match the commanded pulse width or current draw, it stores this code and may disable the alternative fuel injector.
