P22BFO2 Sensor Negative Current Control Circuit/Open (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

P22BF indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected an open circuit or abnormal negative current flow in the control circuit for the downstream oxygen sensor on bank 2, which is the sensor after the catalytic converter on the side of the engine that does not contain cylinder number one. The PCM monitors the current on the sensor's negative control line to verify that the sensor heater and signal circuit are functioning within specification, and this code sets when the measured current is outside the expected range or the circuit is open.
