P2299Brake Pedal Position / Accelerator Pedal Position Incompatible

P2299 is set when the powertrain control module (PCM) sees an illogical relationship between the brake pedal position (BPP) switch and the accelerator pedal position (APP) sensors, such as both being pressed at the same time or the brake signal remaining active while the throttle is applied. The computer detects a conflict between these two driver inputs that does not match any normal driving condition, so it stores the code and may limit engine power to prevent unintended acceleration.
