P2087Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Circuit Intermittent (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

P2087 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an intermittent fault in the exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit for bank 2 sensor 2, which monitors the temperature downstream of the catalytic converter on the bank opposite cylinder one. The computer sees the sensor signal momentarily drop out, spike, or fall outside the expected range for that operating condition, but the fault is not constant.
