P0742Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Stuck On

P0742 means the powertrain control module has commanded the torque converter clutch to release, but the clutch remains applied or engaged when it should not be. The computer detects this by comparing engine speed to transmission input or output speed and seeing them stay locked together when a slip condition was expected.
