DTC codes / P06xx · Computer and output circuits / P06C7
P06C7 means the engine control module has detected an electrical or performance fault specific to the glow plug in cylinder number three, which is used to preheat the combustion chamber on a diesel engine during cold starts. The computer monitors glow plug circuit current and response time, and it flags this code when cylinder three's glow plug does not draw the expected current or fails to heat within the commanded window.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
