P0564Cruise Control Multi-Function Input 'A' Circuit

P0564 means the engine computer has detected an out-of-range or inconsistent signal on the cruise control multi-function input 'A' circuit, which is the steering-wheel switch cluster that handles set, resume, cancel and on/off commands. The computer compares the voltage or resistance it sees on that input against the expected value for the switch position and flags the circuit when the reading does not match any valid command.
