DTC codes / Mazda codes / P1123
P1123 on Mazda vehicles means the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected that the throttle position sensor signal indicates the throttle plate is stuck open, or the PCM cannot command the throttle to close as expected. The PCM compares the throttle position sensor (TPS) voltage against the commanded throttle angle and sees a persistent mismatch where the throttle remains open beyond a calibrated threshold.
Guidance is general and written for Mazda vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
