P1631 · GMAnti-Theft Password Incorrect / O2 Sensor Slow Response

This code sets when the body control module (BCM) or theft deterrent module (TDM) receives an incorrect password from the engine control module (ECM) during the anti-theft handshake, or when the ECM detects that the upstream oxygen sensor is responding too slowly to changes in exhaust oxygen content. The computer has either failed to authenticate a module on the serial data bus or logged a slow-response fault from the oxygen sensor circuit.
