P1532 · GMA/C Evaporator Temperature Sensor Circuit Low Voltage

P1532 on a GM vehicle means the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected a low-voltage signal on the air conditioning (A/C) evaporator temperature sensor circuit, indicating the sensor is reading colder than physically possible or the circuit is shorted to ground. The PCM uses this sensor to prevent evaporator freeze-up by cycling the A/C compressor clutch, so a low signal can disable compressor operation or cause erratic cooling.
