P1749 · FordElectronic Pressure Control Solenoid Failed Low

P1749 on Ford vehicles means the transmission control module (TCM) commanded the electronic pressure control (EPC) solenoid to a certain current and the resulting circuit feedback stayed below the expected low threshold. The computer sees the EPC solenoid circuit as shorted to ground or drawing far too much current, so it cannot trust its own pressure control.
