C0242PCM Indicated ABS Malfunction

C0242 means the powertrain control module (PCM) has received a signal or message from the anti-lock braking system (ABS) module indicating that the ABS has logged a fault, so the PCM is storing a companion code to flag the ABS problem to the scan tool. The PCM itself has not necessarily failed; it is reporting that the ABS system is not functioning correctly and has requested illumination of the ABS warning light.
