P1500 · BMWIdle Speed Control Valve Stuck Open

P1500 on BMW vehicles indicates that the engine control module (DME) has detected the idle speed control valve (also called the idle control valve or ICV) is stuck in an open position, allowing too much air to bypass the throttle at idle. The computer commands a specific idle speed and monitors the resulting engine speed; when the valve fails to respond or the idle speed deviates beyond the expected range, this code is stored.
