P1741 · VolkswagenClutch Pressure Adaptation At Limit

P1741 on Volkswagen vehicles means the transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the clutch pressure adaptation value has reached its maximum or minimum limit and can no longer compensate for wear or hydraulic variation. The computer commands a known clutch pressure and monitors the resulting engagement, then adjusts an adaptation offset; when that offset hits the calibration limit, this code is stored because the transmission can no longer maintain proper clutch control.
