U0053Vehicle Communication Bus C (-) High

U0053 is a generic network communication code indicating that the vehicle's Controller Area Network (CAN) bus C negative circuit is reading a sustained high voltage, which the module interprets as a short to power or a loss of the differential signal. The computer that set this code detected the CAN C minus line sitting at or near battery voltage instead of the expected fluctuating low signal during normal bus communication.
