P34A5A Camshaft Position Actuator Temperature Sensor Range/Performance Bank 1

P34A5 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an out-of-range or performance fault in the camshaft position actuator temperature sensor circuit for bank 1. The sensor monitors the temperature of the camshaft phaser or actuator, and the computer compares the signal against expected values under specific operating conditions. When the signal stays outside the acceptable range or fails to change as expected, the code is stored and the check engine light is illuminated.
