DTC codes / P2Dxx · Hybrid propulsion / P2D92
P2D92 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an abnormally high voltage on the current sensor circuit for one phase of the starter/generator unit, which is the motor-generator assembly used in mild-hybrid and stop-start systems. The computer expects the sensor's signal to stay within a calibrated voltage range that corresponds to the phase current, and a sustained high reading tells the module that the circuit is shorted to voltage, open, or that the sensor itself has failed.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
