P2CDC indicates that during a cold start, the powertrain control module detected a performance fault in the cylinder 2 deactivation or intake valve control system. The computer commands the intake valve to open and close for proper combustion, but the measured response does not match the expected behavior, often due to mechanical or electrical issues in the valve train or control circuit.
