DTC codes / P2Bxx · Hybrid propulsion / P2B8E
P2B8E indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an abnormally high voltage on the heater control circuit for the bank 1 intake air oxygen sensor, which is the sensor mounted in the intake tract ahead of the turbocharger or throttle body on many modern engines. The computer expects the heater circuit to draw current and pull the control line low when energized, so a sustained high-voltage reading tells the module that the circuit is open, shorted to power, or that the heater element inside the sensor has failed.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
