DTC codes / P2Axx · Hybrid propulsion / P2AF6
P2AF6 means the powertrain control module (PCM) has detected that the starter relay circuit designated 'C' is stuck in the off position, so the relay is not passing power to the starter when commanded. The PCM monitors the relay control circuit and sees no expected voltage change or current flow when it energizes the relay, indicating an open circuit, failed relay, or wiring fault.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
