P2A76 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an out-of-range or erratic signal from the hydraulic pump pressure sensor used in an alternative fuel system, such as a compressed natural gas or propane injection setup. The computer compares the sensor voltage against expected values for the current operating conditions and flags the code when the signal falls outside the valid range or fails a rationality check.
