P2A69 indicates that the powertrain control module has detected an abnormal signal from the pressure sensor that monitors the alternative fuel rail pressure regulator, which is used on vehicles powered by compressed natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, or other gaseous fuels. The computer compares this sensor's voltage or pressure reading against expected values and sets the code when the signal falls outside the acceptable range or behaves erratically.
