P286EClutch A Engagement Time Too Fast

P286E means the transmission control module (TCM) commanded clutch A to engage, but the clutch engaged faster than the calibrated time window, so the TCM flagged the event as a fault. The computer is comparing commanded clutch engagement time against the actual time reported by speed, pressure, or position sensors and storing the code when the clutch locks up too quickly.
