DTC codes / P28xx · Transmission / P2827
P2827 means the transmission control module (TCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage on the control circuit for pressure control solenoid J, which is one of the electro-hydraulic valves that regulates line pressure inside the automatic transmission. The circuit is monitored for expected voltage behavior, and a high reading tells the TCM that the solenoid is not drawing the current it should, so the module sets this code and usually commands a fail-safe pressure strategy.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
