P27ECTransmission Range Control A Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Range/Performance

P27EC means the transmission control module (TCM) has detected that the signal from the transmission range control A position sensor or switch is outside its expected range or performance window. The computer knows the gear selector or internal range sensor is reporting a position that does not match reality or is erratic, so it sets this code and may default to a limp-home strategy.
