DTC codes / P27xx · Transmission / P27D8
P27D8 indicates that the transmission control module (TCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage on the control circuit for pressure control solenoid S, which is one of the solenoids that regulates hydraulic pressure inside the automatic transmission. The circuit is likely open, shorted to power, or the solenoid's internal coil has failed, causing the TCM to set this code and often place the transmission in a limp-home mode.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
