DTC codes / P27xx · Transmission / P27C8
P27C8 indicates that the transmission control module (TCM) has detected an abnormally high voltage on the electrical circuit for pressure control solenoid P, which is one of the hydraulic pressure regulators inside the transmission valve body. The TCM expects the solenoid's control circuit to pull the voltage down to a specific range when commanded, and a reading above that threshold tells the module the circuit is open, shorted to power, or the solenoid winding has failed.
Guidance is general and written for all OBD-II vehicles. Exact tests and values vary by model, so confirm the fault before replacing parts.
