P2783Torque Converter Temperature Too High

P2783 means the transmission control module has calculated that the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) inside the torque converter has exceeded a safe temperature threshold, usually based on a temperature sensor or a modeled value derived from engine and transmission data. The converter is the fluid coupling between the engine and gearbox, and excessive heat breaks down the fluid and damages internal seals and clutches. The code is a warning that the transmission is running too hot, not necessarily that a sensor has failed.
